Rottweiler Feeding Guide: How Much & What to Feed

Rottweilers are large, powerful dogs weighing 95-135 pounds, and their feeding needs reflect their substantial size. The amount your Rottweiler needs depends on their age, weight, activity level, and metabolism.

With moderate energy levels, most adult Rottweilers do well on 4-8 cups of high-quality dry food daily, divided into two meals. What most owners don't realize is that feeding amounts can vary significantly even within the same weight range based on your dog's individual needs.

As a large working breed, Rottweilers need high-quality protein to maintain their muscular build. Look for foods with at least 22-26% protein for adults and 26-30% for puppies.
